Football: Notorious Criminal Spotted In Anfield Stadium With Liverpool Players

image
Agency Report
Liverpool fans are asking why notorious criminal Stephen French was pictured sitting alongside the first team players at Anfield during their 1-0 win over Bournemouth.
The Liverpool Echo claim that French picked up the nickname ‘The Devil’ because he struck such fear into the drug dealers he taxed and tortured.
French was jailed as recently as 2013 when he was locked up for a ‘city centre gun showdown’ after pistol-whipping a business man before ditching the imitation gun and machete after a money dispute – the incident managed to shut down Liverpool city centre, reports say.
And supporters of the Reds were shocked to discover that French was casually sitting alongside the likes of Mamadou SakhoChristian Benteke and Emre Can in the VIP section of Anfield.

A man who wished to remain anonymous told the Liverpool Echo:
‘My 14-year-old son is at that match and there’s Stephen French who has said half a dozen people want to kill him.
‘What if someone takes a shot at him?
‘I think it’s disgusting he’s allowed to be there. Someone should tell Klopp.’

Read footballer Samuel Eto'o's 'strong' statement on Boko Haram

Former Cameroon captain Samuel Eto'o is using his fame for a good cause as he has now given a strong statement against the deadly terrorists called Boko Haram ravaging the Northern part of Nigeria. The former Barcelona and Chelsea star has set up the Yellow Whistleblower FC foundation to raise funds and awareness to help people fleeing Nigeria and Cameroon amid the increasing amount of attacks from Boko Haram militants.

Eto’o, says it's time the world stepped up its response to this menace called Boko Haram. The 34-year-old urged leaders and the media to react as they did to the terror attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine offices in Paris in January.

“It is important for us to talk about it — if we don’t do it, who will? We all tried to offer our support (after Charlie Hebdo). We saw African head of states coming to Paris to offer their support to France." He said in an interview with CNN.

“Why, when it comes to Africa — when it comes to our continent — don’t we do anything? Maybe because the media are not doing what they should do.

“When it comes to Charlie Hebdo, we talk about it. The media were right: It was important to talk about that. However when it comes to Boko Haram, we need to wait for the most horrific things to happen for the media to say a word." said the four-time African player of the year.

“After that, everybody stops talking about it. It is like nothing ever happened.

“I think journalists should have denounced this situation. We saw what happened in France. We were very sad about this. We were asking ourselves, ‘How can this happen? How can they succeed? How can these people take away lives of happy people who had families and friends?'”

“I was affected, like many of my African brothers, by Boko Haram. We haven’t been affected by such horrors in a very long time,” he said. “We are seeing these atrocities and we seem powerless.

“We need to cope with this situation. We need to denounce it and find solutions at our level while our armed forces do their own job on the ground.”

Eto’o said one of the most effective ways to defeat Boko Haram and its ideology would be through education, which he called “the most formidable weapon.”

“We need to create schools and give the possibility to these children to learn and understand,” explained Eto’o, whose illustrious career has taken him to Italy, Spain, Russia, England and Turkey, winning three European Champions League titles. He was reportedly one of the the world’s highest-paid players at Anzhi Makhachkala.

“Some of these children affected by the situation are young and are easily manipulable, and they are manipulated. These children are used and join this terrorist organization.”

Eto’o, who now plays for Turkish club Antalyaspor, said: “We wanted to show the right way to our young brothers, but the ignorance that we have in Africa leads to our own brothers shooting at us.

“When you are African, and you are sometimes better (at something) than Europeans or Americans, you’re not considered African.

“It’s frustrating but you can’t be mad. I refuse to be ignorant. The only message that I want to give is that I want people to have easy access to education.”

Spanish billionaire overthrows Bill Gate as richest man in the World

Spanish clothing magnate Amancio Ortega, 79, over took Microsoft founder Bill Gates for the first time ever in the Forbes rich list. According to Forbes's real-time tracker, the elusive multibillionaire founder of European clothing retailer Zara smashed past Bill Gates to become the wealthiest person on the planet, with a fortune of $79.8 billion (€71.83 billion or £51.84 billion). Bill Gates' estimated net worth is $79.5bn as of this afternoon. He's expected to take back his top position from Ortega.
The elusive Ortega isn't as much of a household name as Gates, but he's quietly ascended the wealth rankings in recent years, as his company continues to perform well and expand.

Unlike many of the richest people in the world, Ortega has a fascinating rags-to-riches story. Born in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War, Ortega's father earned 300 pesetas a month, a meager salary.
Ortega's biographer described his memories of a childhood during which his family could not always afford enough food. He left school in his early teens, working his way up from the absolute bottom rung as a messenger boy in a shop.

It wasn't until he was 40 years old that Ortega got around to setting up Zara, the fast-fashion retailer that has gone from strength to strength — first growing in Spain, then neighbouring Portugal and France, then London. Now it's all over the globe.
According to Forbes, Ortega's wealth rose by 5.3%, another $4 billion, over the last 24 hours. That's partly down to a surge in Inditex shares, the parent company that owns Zara.
In the last 10 years, the market value of Inditex has risen by about 570%, the main driver of Ortega's climb up the ranks.
n an odd turn of events, Ortega hasMario Draghi to thank for his new rank — the head of the European Central Bank's hints that the ECB would boost its quantitative-easing programme on Thursday sent shares in the eurozone surging upwards.

Ministerial List: ‘Nothing To Be Excited About’ - PDP

Below is PDP statement on the ministerial list unveiled today...
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it has noted the list of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominees, as announced by the Senate on Tuesday. The party said “by a mere look at the list, one can tell that there is nothing to be excited about, especially considering the length of time it took the President to come up with it”.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in a statement on Tuesday, said “looking at the list, it is hard to put a finger on why it should take any serious-minded and focused government, six months after its election to assemble such a regular team.” The party said the list and the length of time it took have further confirmed the fact that the APC-led administration is driven by propaganda and deceit, a development that raises doubts on the sincerity of its anti-corruption crusade.
