Pay your debt,Hoteliers tell Gov. Aregbesola

Some hoteliers operating in Osun State have asked Governor Rauf Aregbesola to defray bills incurred by guests of the state government who lodged in their facilities.

The hoteliers said this in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday by their spokesperson, Babatunde Karim.

Although the hoteliers lauded Aregbesola’s policies in the tourism and hospitality business, they said the indebtedness had crippled some hotels.

They appealed to the governor to settle bills incurred from March 2014 to date to enable them continue in business.

The statement read,“We are gasping for breath now and business has slowed down because of poor patronage and indebtedness to many hotels in Osogbo.

We remain a strong supporter of the administration of Ogbeni Aregbesola and hope he will take us into consideration while taking critical decision on how to stabilise private businesses in the state.

“It is pertinent to note here that all policies and programmes of Aregbesola’s administration in the tourism and hospitality sector in the state, have impacted positively on our business, but we urge him to take urgent steps to further protect our investments from crumbling by paying promptly for the services we have rendered.”

“Many hotels are retrenching because of huge amount owed them by government. Some could no longer cope and have dropped out of business. We urge him to please pay us the money to prevent total collapse of the sector.”

Efforts to confirm from the governor’s media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, were unsuccessful. Calls put across to his telephone did not connect while text message sent to his telephone as well as inquiries sent to his email were yet to be responded to as of the time of filing this report.

Man Dies After Marathon Sexual Intercourse With Girlfriend In Her Room

Meanwhile, a middle-aged man who reportedly went to visit his female friend at Agidaese Street, in Ogwashi-Uku Community of the state was said to have died on Friday.

The man, according to sources, slumped in his girlfriend’s room after a marathon sexual intercourse and died on the spot.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, confirmed that the woman had been arrested by police in Ogwashi-Uku while the body of the victim had been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.

Clinton Portis would have 'choked out' Ndamukong Suh for kicking off his helmet

While the NFL didn’t think Ndamukong Suh did anything wrongin knocking the helmet off the head of Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris, the man Morris replaced as a star in the Washington backfield, Clinton Portis, had other ideas.

Sheriff Gonna Getcha was doing his weekly spot on ESPN 980’s The Drive With Cooley and Czabe when he discussed Suh, who he says is a great player, but not all that tough.

“I just would love to be in that situation. Why didn’t guys play that way when I was on the field? I wish a guy would have. I would have dove at the back of Suh’s knees so quick and got up and just probably choked him out. I definitely wouldn’t have let him get away with that. But again, Alfred Morris is a different guy than myself.”

Sounds like Clinton Portis is good at two things: 1) dressing up like self-created characters and 2) choking out guys who are five inches taller and 100 pounds heavier than him — and he’s all out of self-created characters.

Clinton just misses the beats and rhythms of football, which is natural considering he’s eight months younger than Eli Manning. But I don’t know how well he’d have done against Suh, who might just be dirty for show, but could still probably flick Portis away like you do a mosquito who’s dressed in a wig, cape and glasses that always make it look like your eyes are open.
